MR.DIY Malaysia Click and Collect: read the address field beside the fulfilment choice

Entering an address during a collection checkout can feel contradictory. MR.DIY Malaysia’s FAQ gives a specific reason: it retains contact information together with the shipping address as a reference if it cannot reach the customer by email. The address field alone therefore does not explain the whole fulfilment choice.

The relevant answer is in the retailer’s online FAQ. A buyer can use that explanation to read the form in context, while checking the actual collection method and location in the order summary.

Read two parts of checkout separately

First identify the selected fulfilment method. Then review the contact details attached to that order. These fields perform different jobs: one describes the selected way of receiving goods; the other helps connect the retailer with the customer.

If the summary does not clearly show the intended collection arrangement, resolve that before submitting the order. Removing or inventing contact details is not a useful way to make the page look more like a pickup form.

Keep the account and message together

The same FAQ says an account is required for checkout. Use the registered email for the actual order when looking for its messages. If a notification is missing, the retailer suggests checking inbox, spam/junk and promotional folders.

That email search is a communication step, not evidence that the order changed from collection to delivery. Match any message to the order reference and the chosen method. A generic product email or newsletter does not establish collection readiness.

Make the uncertainty specific

If the order record shows delivery even though collection was intended, ask about that mismatch directly. If the method is correct but a collection location or notice is missing, describe that narrower problem. A focused enquiry is easier to answer than asking the retailer to infer the transaction from a product photograph.

A private record can hold the order reference, account email, fulfilment choice and relevant notice. Keep credentials and full contact details out of public reviews.

This article reads the retailer’s published explanation; it does not interact with checkout or verify any store’s current collection service. Its conclusion is limited and practical: understand the order from the selected method and location, rather than from the presence of an address box.
