A room needs both a daytime and a night-time drawing
IKEA Malaysia identifies FRIHETEN 092.167.55 as a corner sofa-bed with storage in Skiftebo dark grey. Its chaise section can be placed on either side, and it has a separate stated bed size. The practical purchase question is therefore how the room works in both configurations, rather than whether a single sofa photograph looks suitable.
Make two simple drawings of the actual room: one for ordinary seating and another for the intended bed arrangement. Mark doors, frequently used storage and the route people normally take. These are the buyer’s observations, not dimensions measured by this site. The exercise should expose conflicts before a personal fit conclusion is made.
Reversible placement offers a choice, not a fit guarantee
The manufacturer’s left-or-right chaise statement gives a layout choice. It does not prove that either arrangement suits every room or that changing sides has no assembly requirements. This article does not provide disassembly instructions or promise a particular time to switch the configuration.
Compare the two drawings using the same room features. Which side leaves the preferred route understandable, and which places the chaise where the buyer wants to sit? A preference can then be explained without claiming universal space efficiency. If changing the arrangement is part of the plan, consult the exact current assembly guidance rather than infer a procedure from the reversible feature label.
Overall size and bed size answer different questions
The local page states an overall width of 230 cm and depth of 151 cm, alongside a 140-by-204 cm bed size. The bed dimensions are not a complete description of every clearance needed to convert or move around the furniture. We do not add a guessed allowance or certify a room from those figures alone.
Keep the two dimension labels separate on the drawings. Use the source’s stated overall size to identify the furniture and the bed size to describe the sleeping area; obtain the current detailed drawing for any remaining fit question. A narrow gap in a rough sketch should remain unresolved until the actual space and required movement are checked.
Storage access is another room task
IKEA locates storage beneath the chaise. A buyer should therefore think about reaching that storage in the intended room arrangement, not merely count it as extra capacity. The source does not provide a measured usable volume for the buyer’s own bedding, and we do not invent one.
List the few items that the buyer actually wants to store and consider when they will be accessed. This separates an occasional bedding task from daily storage use. A display photograph is not proof those exact items will fit or that access will be convenient in the reader’s room. Measure the actual items and check access in the intended room.
