ASUS Malaysia Vivobook Go 15 E1504FA: a USB-C data specification is not proof of a one-cable dock

If your desk plan depends on a dock carrying data, a display and laptop power through one cable, the connector’s shape is not enough evidence. The ASUS Malaysia specification for E1504FA identifies USB-C data speed. A complete dock promise needs evidence for the other tasks too.

What the model’s port list documents

The Malaysia E1504FA specification lists a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port with data speed up to 5Gbps, as well as separate HDMI 1.4 and DC-in entries. This documents those listed interfaces. We are not treating the list’s silence about a proposed Type-C display-and-power combination as proof that every possible accessory is either supported or impossible.

The exact Malaysian retail SKU and a dock model have not been verified. We have not connected a monitor or tested a dock. No laptop-performance, transfer-speed or charging result is claimed here.

Write the three requirements separately

For the intended desk, list the peripherals that need data, the display arrangement you need and how the laptop will receive power. A useful accessory answer should identify which requirement it addresses. “USB-C compatible” leaves too much undefined when the purchase depends on all three.

A dock that exposes several sockets does not, by appearance alone, prove that the laptop supplies every underlying capability. Likewise, a laptop’s separate HDMI listing can be relevant to another connection plan without proving the behaviour of the proposed USB-C dock.

Ask for a model-specific explanation

  • Confirm the full laptop model and retail configuration being offered.
  • Name the exact dock and monitor rather than an accessory family.
  • Ask which documented route supplies each required function.
  • Keep any stated limitation and the source used to justify compatibility.

If a retailer offers a demonstration, make sure it represents the actual combination you intend to buy. A different laptop connected to the same dock does not settle the E1504FA question. A demonstration of a data device alone does not settle the display or power question.

Decision boundary

Our assessment is that an unresolved function should remain unresolved in the comparison table. Do not convert missing evidence into a feature tick merely to make a package look convenient. Mark the dock’s display-and-power combination as Needs editor verification until model-specific evidence supports it.

This guide does not recommend a cable modification, adapter workaround or electrical procedure. It does not promise stock, a package price or a warranty outcome. It helps define the evidence needed before accepting a one-cable desk claim.
